Welcome to Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir
We are an amateur male choir in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We have approximately 100 auditioned choir members who sing in the Welsh Male Voice TTBB tradition.
We perform for general audiences locally and abroad with an eclectic mix of traditional Welsh and world music, support charitable causes with benefit performances, and engage with youth choirs to encourage choral performance.
We record our work and offer our best performances to you on CDs and other means. Our music can be purchased through this website and at our live performances.
UPCOMING: HISTORICAL EUROPEAN TOUR!
The Choristers are excited about our upcoming tour this Spring to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation and to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, Lest We Forget. We will travel through France, Belgium and the Netherlands, visiting Canadian military and war museums, war memorials, and major battlefields in both World Wars, where Canadian soldiers bravely fought and gave their lives in the name of freedom. Highlights include the beaches of Normandy, the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery, the iconic Vimy Ridge Memorial and the monument of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, author of the famous poem “In Flanders Fields.”
We will be taking part in the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres and the Liberation Day celebrations in Amsterdam. Our choir will be performing in the communities around these historical locations and in some cases at the memorial sites themselves. We also look forward to participating in the Antwerp International Spring Festival for Choral Music. We are proud to be ambassadors of our brave and modest country on this tour. Through our music we want to honour heroes of the past and those who continue to defend our freedom today. We desire to inspire others through our music and with friendship, peace and kindness, values that are near and dear to our hearts.
