Jonathan Quick, Music Director
The choir is led by dynamic Music Director Jonathan Quick, a UBC graduate in voice, composition and conducting. His various musical talents have allowed him to pursue work in conducting, composing, arranging, sound recording and editing, music typesetting, and singing.
Jonathan has worked with many Vancouver choirs, including musica intima, as a singer, recording engineer, arranger, and in musical workshops. Jonathan has been featured on numerous recordings with local ensembles, and has appeared as a soloist with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, the Vancouver Cantata Singers, the West Coast Mennonite Chamber Choir, the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Kwasha's Crew, the Burney Ensemble, Early Music Vancouver, the Vancouver Welsh Mens' Choir, Chor Leoni and New Music Vancouver.
David Buchan, Accompanist and Assistant Conductor
David holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Victoria as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. His studies in music have led him through Alberta, B.C., Washington and California. Consistently centred around the piano in either accompanying or solo work, his learning in the area of music has been expressed more often in the past 10 years through the art of both choral and instrumental conducting. He is Director of Choral Music at Collingwood School, in West Vancouver. David has been the musical director for several productions including Into the Woods, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
David has worked with the Welsh Men’s Choir and its previous two directors continuously since 1996, taking part in all of their incredible tours, including those to Russia, England and Wales.
